    • What does Shakespeare do, how does he do it, and so what? What do we learn about Macbeth's motivation? Ambition? Guilt? Free will vs. fate? What is Macbeth's state of mind? What shift in his ambition is revealed?

2. Midterm with Fake Names
  • Use a fake name and your id # (bubble out your name if you already wrote it)
  • Metacognition: Answer in complete sentences. You can do it in the space after your essay if you have room, or add a clean sheet of binder paper.
    • What score do you think you will earn and why, be specific.
    • Underline and label your thesis statement.
    • How many vocabulary words did you use? Why or why not? Underline them in your essay.
    • How did you feel writing this essay? Is your writing improving? Why and how or why not?
